1ripebananause a frozen one for a colder, thicker texture
1½cups(210g)fresh strawberriesup to 2 cups for best flavor - green tops removed and sliced in half
½cup(120g)Greek yogurtfull-fat or nonfat both work great
½cup(120g)milkoat, almond, or dairy milk
1tablespoon(8g)chia seedsoptional - it works without
2teaspoonshoneyor maple - only if you want it a little sweeter
½teaspoonvanilla extract optional - or 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
Load the Blender: Add ½ cup Greek yogurt, ½ cup milk, 1 ripe banana, 1 tablespoon chia seeds, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1½ cups fresh strawberries.Use deep red, fresh berries (trimming away any tasteless white centers) for the best flavor. Note: For the best texture and flavor, we recommend freezing your fresh fruit before blending, though room-temperature fresh fruit works perfectly if you're in a hurry!
Blend and Enjoy: Secure the lid and blend on high for 60 seconds until completely smooth. Give it a quick taste and add 2 teaspoons honey if your berries are a bit tart. Blend again and enjoy.
Substitutions
Ripe Banana –> Swap with frozen mango, peach, or extra Greek yogurt plus 2 tsp honey.
Strawberries –> Substitute with frozen raspberries or blueberries.
Greek Yogurt –> Use low-fat Greek yogurt, Skyr, or coconut yogurt for a dairy-free version.
Milk –> Replace with oat, almond, or soy milk.
Chia Seeds –> Swap with ground flaxseeds or hemp hearts.
Honey –> Substitute with maple syrup, agave, or a pitted Medjool date.
Tips
Freeze your own: Freeze fresh, seasonal strawberries for much better flavor than store-bought.
Hull deeply: Remove the tasteless white cores to ensure an intense strawberry essence.
Use cold yogurt: Use yogurt straight from the fridge for a thicker, "spoonable" texture.
Taste and tweak: Add a teaspoon of honey if your berries are particularly tart.
Skip ice: Use frozen fruit instead of ice to avoid watering down the flavor.
Storage: Best fresh, but keeps in a sealed jar for 24 hours (shake before drinking).
