Our lentil bolognese recipe is inspired by Italian bolognese sauce. It's a flavorful and hearty sauce, perfect with pasta, gnocchi, or lasagna.

STEP 1: Get your ingredients ready.

STEP 2: To a medium bowl, add the wet ingredients: plant milkoil, and sugar.

STEP 3: Whisk to combine ingredients.

STEP 4: Sift in the dry ingredients: flourbaking powdercinnamon, and a pinch of salt.

STEP 5: Whisk with a hand mixer for a few seconds till you have a smooth and thick cake batter.

STEP 6: Add small apple pieces from 2 apples (about 11 ounces or 300 grams of apple chunks).

STEP 7: Fold with a spatula until the apple pieces are incorporated, then pour it into the cake tin.

STEP 8: Cover the top of the cake with thin apple slices in a circular pattern. Sprinkle with sugar.

STEP 9: Bake the cake at 360°F for 55 minutes to 1 hour on the center rack of the oven.
